IPPC REGULATIONS WILL HAVE AN IMPACT ON WASTE PRODUCERSWe are pleased to inform you that Arrow Environmental Services Ltd has gained their IPPC Permit, number KP3433UM, to enable them to continue processing oily water wastes at Exchange Works. The Permit, which came into force on 10th August 2007, supersedes the waste management license to the extent that treatment, keeping or disposal of waste authorised by the license is authorised by the permit IPPC (Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control) is a regulatory system that employs an integrated approach to control the environmental impacts of certain industrial activities. It involves determining the appropriate controls for industry to protect the environment through a single permitting process. Arrow will have to demonstrate that they have systematically developed systems to apply the Best Available Techniques (BAT) and meet certain other requirements, taking account of relevant local factors, by employing far more stringent controls for accepting waste as well as processing it. Under the new regime and to enable us to comply with the guidelines, we are obligated to obtain certain information from waste producers about their processes, how their waste/s are produced and stored prior to collection as well as the constituents of the waste, before it is collected for processing at Exchange Works. More rigorous checks must also be carried out prior to any waste/s being accepted at Arrow. In order to collect this information, we have produced a 'Waste Declaration Form' which must be completed before the waste can be considered for processing. If you have not received or completed a form, please discuss this with your account manager or alternatively, click on the link and print out the 'Waste Declaration Form' and return to Arrow, for the attention of Neil Williams. If you need any assistance, please contact Neil on 0121 525 0757. If you have already completed a form, it is essential that you let us know, if your waste stream changes as a result of any variation to your process, regardless of whether it is planned or un-planned, to enable us ALL to comply with the regulations. We thank your cooperation in this matter and look forward to being of service. Return to the news room |
